We are proud to be an RAC Approved Dealer. But what does this mean for you? The customer.
In short it means that we adhere to the RACs standards, which includes a comprehensive 82 point check.
Every one of our vehicles has our sticker on the back, because we are proud of our vehicles.
We aren’t a regular car dealer, we are specialists in used wavs and use our expertise in the field alongside our network of skilled local craftsmen to ensure that our WAV’s are the best they can be! We believe in supporting small, independent businesses like ourselves, as opposed to the big guys.
Here is a quick overview of how we prepare our accessible vehicles for sale to ensure that they’re worthy of our sticker of approval.
More details below…
All of our vehicles are checked and inspected by an independent DVSA approved garage to ensure they’re free of faults. Using an independent as opposed to doing work in-house removes any bias but also helps us to minimise cost to the customer as we don’t have to pay for expensive tools, workshop costs or additional staff.
PDR is a relatively modern process whereby dents can be removed from panels using specialist tools and hammers. This retains the vehicles original finish as no bodywork preparation is required.
Our PDR specialist, Ryan, is massively skilled at his craft. He regularly attends trade shows and his passion for perfection really shows in the quality of work that he delivers. Ryan is able to fix those annoying carpark dents and dings in no time at all, further improving the look of our WAVs and ensuring that our customers get the best.
Who doesn’t love a nice shiny car? That’s why we go the extra mile here at Wheelchair Vehicles. We ensure that all our vehicles meet our high standards both mechanically and cosmetically. When our PDR wizard, Ryan, can’t work his magic and paintwork is required, we enlist the services of Andy.
Andy has been in the paint and body repair industry for over 40 years! His experience is second to none and he’s able to make scratches disappear like they’ve never existed.
We like to take our vehicles to the next level when it comes to preparing them for sale. This includes the place that you’ll spend most of your time, the interior.
We use a local interior specialist to repair any damage on seats and don’t mind getting our hands dirty ourselves swapping out worn steering wheels, gear knobs and even smart repairs on the wheelchair accessible areas to ensure they’re top class.
We utilise Main Dealer level diagnostic equipment during the preparation of our vehicles. This ensures that our vehicles are both mechanically and electronically sound.
We thoroughly test all restraints and adaptions prior to sale. If any are damaged and need repair, they are replaced with like for like units from the conversion company.
All of our vehicles come with at least 6 months MOT. This is carried out at a local independent MOT station to ensure no bias. WAVs are classed as regular cars and as such just have a regular MOT. It is only when you get into the heavier stuff such as long wheelbase vehicles above 3.5t, which require a special license to drive, that you need a different class of MOT.
