WAV is an abbreviation of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle.

A WAV is vehicle which has been modified by a coachbuilder to enable a wheelchair user to travel in their wheelchair as their seat in the vehicle. The modification of the vehicle usually involves removing the floor behind the front seats, replacing this with a lowered section and fitting a ramp for access as well as securing points for the wheelchair.

There are some adaptions however, which your mechanic may need to be made aware of, such as modified exhaust systems or any other components which are customised by the original conversion company.
